Activity Synopsis |
Objective(s): | To consider, revise and possibly finalise the preliminary draft instrument on online and related offline content and behaviours carrying a risk of harm.
Output/Results: | The Council of Europe Handbook on Internet Literacy was referred to and disseminated widely on the occasion of Safer Internet Day on 7 February 2006 and in certain activities of the European Year of Citizenship through Education. Apart from the English and French versions, Bulgaria, Greece, Portugal and Turkey had also translated the Handbook into their national languages.
Conclusions/Follow Up: | Consensus reached on the direction and structure of the draft instrument and also on it being developed as a draft recommendation rather than a declaration. Furthermore, it was agreed that the Secretariat would rework the draft following the comments and suggestions put forward by the Group.
