The visit of experts of the Coordinating Council on Audiovisual of Moldova was a follow-up to the visit of experts of the Office of the National Radio and Television Commission. After Moldova had ratified the Convention on Transfrontier Television there was a need to assist the Coordinating Council on Audiovisual of Moldova. This body being in charge inter alia of supervising the observation of the provisions of the Convention by the broadcasters should establish an effective monitoring system.
In this first phase of co-operation experts from the office of the National Radio and Television Commission gave a description of the operation of the Office of the Commission. Special emphasis was put on the operation of the Monitoring Directorate. Yet, issues concerning the production of national audiovisual works and the operation of the Broadcasting Fund managed by the Commission were discussed.
In the second phase of the project, an 8 member delegation of the Coordinating Council visited the Commission. On the first day of the visit, monitoring methods and issues were discussed in the morning and international co-operation and affairs in the afternoon. On the second they of their visit, the delegation paid a visit to the public service television broadcaster Duna Televízió. The delegation was informed about the financing of the national public service television broadcaster, its operational structure and its remits etc.
