Expert meeting on the European Convention on Transfrontier Television |
| Description: |
The Observer Delegate of the Russian Federation, Mr Maxim Proksh, who attended the last meeting of the Standing Committee on Transfrontier Television in Strasbourg on 10 and 11 April 2006 on behalf of the Ministry of Culture and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation, indicated that the Russian Federation may well sign the European Convention on Transfrontier Television by the end of 2006.
In order to facilitate this process and to establish cooperation in view of the signature of the Convention, it is proposed to organise a meeting in Moscow with all interested parties, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Experts on the European Convention on Transfrontier Television as well as one or two representative(s) of the Council of Europe’s secretariat would attend this meeting and share with the Russian authorities their knowledge and experience on the Convention.
