Activity Synopsis

 
Objective(s):

The aim of the workshop was:

1. to present an overview of the European standards of the work of the European Regulators with regard to content monitoring;

2. to discuss to what extent the functioning of the Ukrainian regulator conforms to the European standards;

3. to present the principles and the functioning of some of the European regulators, such as: from France, Hungary, Netherland’s with regard to the monitoring system;

4. to discuss with the National Broadcasting on Television and Radio Broadcasting their problems, lack of appropriate legal regulations.
 

Output/Results:

- The workshop gave the opportunity for staff of the National Broadcasting on Television and Radio Broadcasting to improve their knowledge of European standards adopted by the regulators operating in EU countries

- Presentations proposed by European experts were lively and provoked interesting discussions.
 

Conclusions/Follow Up:

Workshops for the staff of National Broadcasting on Television and Radio Broadcasting seem to be the most efficient way of assisting the Council in improving its capacity and to implement the principles of transparency in its functioning.
