Activity Synopsis

 
Objective(s):

The aim of the meeting was to discuss the analysis of the above-mentioned draft law with the drafters and other stakeholders in view of bringing the text in line with the relevant Council of Europe standards. 

Output/Results:

The participants agreed on several recommendations concerning the regulation of media concentration in Ukraine, in particular with regard to the registration procedure for printed mass media, criteria for and control of inadmissible concentration in the print media, requirements for companies applying for broadcasting licences and that amendments to the legislation of Ukraine in accordance with the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers Recommendation No. R (94) 13 on measures to promote media transparency.
