Round table on Constitutional Law for Regional Constitutional Courts of the Subjects of the Russian Federation |
| Description: |
The event provided a much needed forum for discussion of existing collisions between domestic law and international human rights requirements, and assisted the Constitutional Courts judges from several republics in getting a better understanding of the position of the European Court of Human Rights interpreting the ECHR. Particularly important was the fact that the judges reached an unequivocal agreement as to the important role they have to play in ensuring that human rights are protected on the territories under their jurisdiction. |
