Training course on human rights education with children |

The overall aim of the course was to develop competencies of professionals working in ombuds’ offices and youth leaders active in human rights advocacy - particularly in the field of protection of children’s rights, to integrate and further develop practices of human rights education with children in various contexts and realities using Compasito, a manual on human rights education with children, as a tool.
Methodology of the course:
The fundamental resource material of the training course is COMPASITO – a manual on human rights education with children, which will be introduced and practiced in order to develop new competencies in human rights education focusing on children’s rights. The working methods of the course are based on non formal educational practices. The experien¬ces of the participants will serve as a basis for reflection and discussion of good practice and for development of new ideas and activities in local, national and/or international levels. Input and discussions in plenary sessions, thematic working groups and workshops on different approaches to human rights education with children will provide further knowledge and understanding of the issue.
COMPASITO - the manual on human rights education with children will be extensively used throughout the course. COMPASITO documents different methods, educational approaches and practices used in human rights education with children. Furthermore, COMPASITO contains practical activities and thematic material needed for this type of work.
