BACKGROUND INFORMATION ON TALE
In 2007, the Youth-Partnership between the Council of Europe and the European Commission decided to develop a new generic Training Course for Trainers at advanced level. This Training for Trainers is a Youth-Partnership activity run together by the Council of Europe, the European Commission and its partners (NAs and SALTO networks), in co-operation with the European Youth Forum. This Training Course should constitute the first step towards the creation of a co-ordinated approach of training trainers in Europe. The organisation of this Training Course will benefit from an important institutional recognition from all stakeholders.
The name of this long-term Training Course is TALE (''Trainers for Active Learning in Europe'').
PREVIOUS MEETINGS
The preparation and design phase of the Training Course started in 2008, while the implementation is foreseen in 2009-2010:
- Five Steering Group meetings gathering the representatives of the main stakeholders involved in the project set the political objectives of the Training Course, and monitored its implementation.
- Five preparatory meetings of the Course team took place, in order to develop a common educational approach towards the Training Course and prepare its programme.
- The 1st residential seminar of TALE took place in May 2009, the 2nd residential seminar will take place in February 2010.
AIM OF THIS MEETING
This 2nd Joint Meeting will aim at allowing exchanges between the Steering Group members and the Course team members on matters of common interest regarding the further development of the Training Course.
It will immediately follow the 6th Steering Group meeting (Strasbourg, 10-11 May, 2010) and will be followed by the 6th Course Team meeting (starting in Strasbourg on 13 May).
This 2nd Joint Meeting replaces a similar meeting which was originally scheduled on 11 September, 2009 and had to be cancelled.
OBJECTIVES
The precise objectives of the 2nd Joint Meeting will be set at a later stage.
N.B: this meeting is strictly reserved for invited members of the Steering Group and Course team only. It is NOT OPEN to external participants. |
