BACKGROUND INFORMATION ON TALE
In 2007, the Youth-Partnership between the Council of Europe and the European Commission decided to develop a new generic Training Course for Trainers at advanced level. This Training for Trainers is run together by the Council of Europe, the European Commission and its partners (NAs and SALTO networks), in co-operation with the European Youth Forum. This Training Course should constitute the first step towards the creation of a co-ordinated approach of training trainers in Europe. The organisation of this Training Course will benefit from an important institutional recognition from all stakeholders.
The name of this long-term Training Course is TALE (''Trainers for Active Learning in Europe'').
PREVIOUS MEETINGS
The preparation and design phase of the Training Course started in 2008, while the implementation takes place in 2009-2010:
- Five Steering Group meetings gathering the representatives of the main stakeholders involved in the project set the political objectives of the Training Course, and monitored its implementation.
- Five preparatory meetings of the Course team took place, in order to develop the educational approach of the Training Course and its programme.
- The 1st residential seminar of TALE took place in May 2009, while the second residential seminar will take place in February 2010.
AIM OF THIS MEETING
This sixth preparatory meeting of the Course team will aim at evaluating the second residential seminar (February 2010), reviewing the outcomes of the practice phase and preparing the 3rd and last residential seminar (scheduled in October 2010).
N.B: this meeting is strictly reserved for invited members of the Course team only. It is NOT OPEN to external participants. |
