BACKGROUND INFORMATION ON TALE
In 2007, the Youth-Partnership between the Council of Europe and the European Commission decided to develop a new generic Training Course for Trainers at advanced level. This Training for Trainers is run together by the Council of Europe, the European Commission and its partners (NAs and SALTO networks), in co-operation with the European Youth Forum. This Training Course should constitute the first step towards the creation of a co-ordinated approach of training trainers in Europe. The organisation of this Training Course will benefit from an important institutional recognition from all stakeholders.
The name of this long-term Training Course is TALE (''''Trainers for Active Learning in Europe'''').
PREVIOUS MEETINGS
The preparation and design phase of the Training Course started in 2008, while the implementation takes place in 2009-2010:
- Five Steering Group meetings (April 2008, September 2008, February 2009, September 2009, May 2010) gathering the representatives of the main stakeholders involved in the project set the political objectives of the Training Course, and monitored its implementation.
- 7th reparatory meetings of the Course team took place (in November and February 2009, April, September and December 2009, August 2010), in order to develop the educational approach of the Training Course and its programme.
AIM OF THIS MEETING
This 6th and last Steering Group meeting discussed the implementation of the Training Course so far, as well as steps to be taken to ensure a satisfactory closure and follow-up of the Training Course.
The Steering Group members had the opportunity to meet all TALE participant-trainers during a common session aiming at sharing information and possible follow-up opportunities on 13 October, 2010.
