This Workshop on Tools for Recognition of Non-formal Learning for the Russian Federation was the follow-up of the seminar organised in May 2008 in Strasbourg entitled “The Second Joint Workshop on the Co-operation between the Youth Sector of the Council of Europe, the Russian Federation and the European Commission” and “The Joint Workshop on the Co-operation between the Youth Sector of the Council of Europe, the Russian Federation and the European Commission” held in June 2007 in Moscow. It focused on one of the priorities identified in the document produced after the Moscow event ''Summary of Key Ideas for Future Co-operation'' (Doc № DJS/PartCE/2008/001E), namely the recognition of non-formal education.
The aim of this workshop was to start the process of development of the all Russian tools for recognition of non-formal learning to give equal possibilities to Russian youth from different areas to socialize and compete successfully in a knowledge-based society.
The workshop gathered experts in recognition of non-formal education from France, Germany, Luxemburg as well as a group of representatives from the Russian Federation: decision makers in the field of youth policy, non-formal education practitioners and youth researchers, who afterwards are to continue their work on the development of the adequate tool(s). |
