Long term training course on the role of young people and youth organisations in promoting youth participation in society |
| Description: |
The long-term training course was composed of three different stages: an introductory seminar, a project phase and an evaluation seminar. The course was designed as an open learning process based on experience and exchange. The group of participants was in itself a forum for intercultural learning and a framework for personal development. The course programme and contents were organised so as to allow for maximum group participation using active and participatory methods. A team of experienced trainers was in charge of the learning process and provided guidance for the development and evaluation of the project work as well as other training input.
The planning and implementation of a concrete local/regional youth project by each participant served a dual purpose. Firstly, the project was a tool for learning and for developing practical experience. Secondly, the project was seen as a concrete initiative that can help to improve the quality and outreach of youth work at local and regional levels.
Participants were:
• Youth workers and youth leaders who are active in local associations, community organisations, youth clubs and initiatives in Moldova;
• Representatives of local, regional and/or national governmental youth structures/departments who are interested in developing strategies and projects around youth participation and the development of co-operative life.
