The Democratic Leadership Programme (DLP) aims to strengthen the political skills of young (future) politicians who have a clear and demonstrated commitment to democracy, human rights and the rule of law. The strengthened skills of these young leaders will contribute to greater democratic security, in particular in those societies where extremism represents a serious threat to nascent democracy. The DLP also provides training for young journalists and NGO leaders who are key figures in the civil society context in which the more formal political sector operates, training which is complementary to that of the young political leaders. |
