Third Seminar ''Youth Policy in South-East Europe''. Employment and unemployment among young people in the South-East Europe. |
| Description: |
The seminar took place within the Slovenian Chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. It was organised jointly with the Slovenian Office for Youth of the Ministry of Education and Sport and the SALTO Resource Centre for South-East Europe. The event gathered more than forty experts from throughout the Region, key stakeholders in youth employment and employability issues: youth policy makers, employment policy makers, representatives of employers, youth researchers and youth workers/leaders, some experts from outside of the Region and representatives of the Council of Europe, the partnership between the European Commission and the Council of Europe in the field of Youth and the Youth Forum Jeunesse.
The main aim was to reinforce existing contacts and exchanging information and views on the status and developments of youth policy concerning employment and employability of young people in the Region, updating on relevant activities of a variety of stakeholders, discussing the concrete future cooperation needs and possibilities. Developing better knowledge on the topic and a closer cooperation among the relevant stakeholders, including educational authorities, were identified as requiring special attention. Several specific initiatives were recommended for future implementation. |
