BACKGROUND INFORMATION
In 2007, the Youth-Partnership between the Council of Europe and the European Commission decided to develop a new generic Training Course for Trainers (at advanced level) together with some other stakeholders (European Commission and European YouthForum). The preparation and design phase started in 2008, while the implementation is foreseen in 2009-2010.
Two Steering Group meetings (April and September 2008) gathered the representatives of the main stakeholders involved in the project. They set the political objectives, target group, scope and implementation strategy of the Training Course. The Steering Group also selected the future educational team of the Training Course (external consultants).
During this first preparatory meeting of the educational team, the selected trainers will discuss together the Training Course concept developed so far, as well as the main elements of the Course curriculum in terms of contents, methodological guidelines.
OBJECTIVES
The preparatory meeting of the educational team scheduled in November 2008 aims:
• to review the aim, objectives and target group of the Training for Trainers, which were defined by the Steering Group;
• to develop a draft curriculum (methodological guidelines, learning strands and features) for the Training for Trainers, based on the recommendations made by the Steering Group and the principles of non-formal education;
• to clarify roles and responsibilities within the team during the preparation, implementation and evaluation of the Training for Trainers;
• to plan the implementation of the Training for Trainers and prepare the call for participants.
N.B: this preparatory meeting is strictly reserved for the educational team of the Training Course. It is NOT OPEN to outside participants. |
