The ''Training-Youth'' Partnership between the Council of Europe and the European Commission developed highly appreciated training Modules on European Citizenship over the past 6 years.
In view of the intended future decentralisation of the EC Modules to the YOUTH Programme’s National Agencies network in 2008, the format and programme of the Modules will be adapted. Against this background, a precise curriculum needs to be developed to support the National Agencies network and the future trainers in implementing the new Modules.
The Seminar aims to contribute to the development of a curriculum for the future training courses on European Citizenship, through the agreement on a common conceptual framework on European citizenship and the proposal of concrete educational tools and methodologies.
The objectives of the Seminar are the following:
- to allow stakeholders to present their plans/visions for the future European citizenship training activities and agree, if possible, on a conceptual framework;
- to reach a common understanding on the future Modules (aim and objectives; title; target group; length; programme; educational approach; tools used; etc.) and to set more precisely the terms of reference of the consultants work.
- to develop a curriculum for the future Modules on European Citizenship (work to be carried out by three educational consultants at a later stage). |
