The ''Training-Youth'' Partnership Programme (Council of Europe & European Commission) regularly organises short-term training Modules that address various aspects of European Citizenship.
These Modules aim at supporting the professional development of youth workers and youth leaders by extending their competencies to integrate elements of European citizenship within their projects and practice.
This Module (Module 3) will focus on ''Citizenship''.
The Module will explore the following questions and issues:
- What is ‘citizenship’?
- Concepts and practices of citizenship.
- Citizenship and identity: Historical and cultural understandings.
- Integrating European citizenship into youth work and formal education activities.
- The relation of a citizen to the local environment, the region, the state, and to Europe:
the interaction of European, active, and democratic citizenship.
- Exploring the topics of democracy and citizenship in the Swiss context. |
