The main aim of the course is to facilitate the development and implementation of participation projects at local and regional level by young people already active in local and regional life based in the principles promoted by the revised European Charter on the Participation of Young People in Local and Regional Life.
Contents of the course
The main content of the course will cover the revised European Charter on the Participation of Young People in Local and Regional Life, ways to promote it, different tools developed by the Council of Europe for its promotion, and ways in which to use the Charter as a tool both for encouraging youth participation in local and regional public life, and for lobbying local and regional authorities to develop policies, means and structures for encouraging such participation. Topics such as participation, citizenship, democracy and civil society will be addressed. |
