| Title: | The Final Conference of the European Year of Citizenship through Education |
| Description: | The Final Conference is organised in cooperation by the Committee for the Development of Civil Society, Estonian Union of School Principals, Estonian Union of Teachers, Union of Self-Governments of Estonian Students and the Council of Europe Information Office in Tallinn in Tartu, in the premises of Miina Härma Grammar School.
The main aim of the Conference is to generate ideas on the Education for Democratic Citizenship, to encourage discussion between teachers, students, school principals and NGOs and to draw conclusions on the Year. During the conference various lectures on the subject of Education for Democratic Citizenship will be held. The programme of the Final Conference also includes conducting of 4 workshops dedicated to the following subjects: ''How to contribute to the decision-making process'', ''How to include youth in the democratic life of the society'', ''How to use new teaching methods in the civics curriculum'' and ''Media and Education for Democratic Citizenship''. During the conference the winners of the methodology competition targeted to the civics teachers will be awarded and the respective methodologies presented. |
